Topping up credits

A top-up adds purchased credits to your account: they never reset, never expire, and work on every plan — including Free. Top-ups are the right tool when you need a burst of generation without changing your subscription.

Buy a top-up

  1. Open Settings → Usage.
  2. Enter an amount in the Top up field — anywhere from $5 to $1,000.
  3. Complete the Stripe checkout.

Credits land immediately at 100 credits per $1 ($10 = 1,000 credits), and the purchase appears in your activity ledger as a Top-up entry.

Your first top-up

The first top-up on an account does two more things:

  • It adds 250 bonus credits on top of what you bought. The bonus lasts 90 days and is spent before your purchased credits, so nothing you paid for goes unused. (An account that already collected the Pro/Business welcome bonus has had its gift.)
  • It unlocks every Pro-badged model, on any plan including Free — see Choosing a model.

How top-ups interact with your plan

  • Corte spends your monthly plan budget first, then purchased credits — so a top-up quietly extends your month rather than being burned early.
  • If you spend past your monthly budget, the overage is settled against your purchased pool at the start of the next period. Nothing expires in the process — see How credits work.
  • Canceling or downgrading your subscription does not touch purchased credits — they stay on the account. See Managing your subscription.

:::tip Topping up vs. upgrading If you're topping up more than about $10 every month, a subscription is usually the better deal — Standard gives 1,000 monthly credits plus every Pro model for the same spend, and Pro/Business carry a better credit rate than top-ups. :::
