Color & effects
Grading and effects live in the Inspector (⌥⌘0) with a clip selected. Everything here is free and renders in the browser, exactly as it exports.
Color grading
- Primary controls — exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, and tint. Most clips only need these.
- Curves — full tonal control for matching shots or building a look.
- HSL — shift, saturate, or dim individual color ranges (the classic "make the sky bluer without touching skin tones").
- LUTs — apply a look-up table to land a look in one step.
Scopes show the waveform of what you're actually outputting, so you can match shots by the numbers instead of by eye.
Effects
Applied per-clip and stackable:
| Effect | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Clarity | Punch up flat footage |
| Chroma key | Green-screen keying |
| Gaussian & motion blur | Backgrounds, speed looks |
| Sharpen | Rescued soft shots |
| Noise reduction | Low-light cleanup |
| Grain | Film texture |
| Vignette | Focus the frame |
| Glow | Highlights bloom |
| Audio denoise | Strip room hiss and hum |
Grade at scale
The AI editing agent drives these same controls: "match the b-roll to the interview shot" or "warm up everything on V2, add light grain" applies a consistent grade across the timeline, and every change is undoable.
For AI transformations that go beyond grading — changing weather, time of day, or restyling footage entirely — see AI Clip Edit and the finishing Applications like Color Grade Video.
