Touring the workspace

Every screen in Corte shares the same left rail, so once you know it, you know your way around the whole app.

The editor with the rail on the left — the same rail appears on every surface.

The rail

From top to bottom:

  • Corte logo — takes you Home from anywhere.
  • Surface switcherHome, Cut, Studio, Workflows, and Library. Each is a full working surface; switching never loses your place.
  • Credits badge — your remaining credit balance, always visible (for example 1.2k). Click it to jump to your account and usage details.
  • Avatar — opens the workspace picker and Settings. Personal is your private workspace; any shared projects you own or joined are listed alongside it. Switching workspace re-scopes Cut, Studio, Workflows, and Library to that project.

Inside the editor the rail also carries quick actions — Media, Inspect, Agent, Generate, Share, and Export — plus a ? help button with Keyboard Shortcuts (press ?) and Send Feedback….

info

If your subscription payment fails, a past-due banner appears across the top of the app until it's resolved — see Managing your subscription.

Panels and layouts

The editor is built from panels you can toggle at any time:

PanelShortcutWhat it shows
Media panel⌘0Imported files, generations, text elements
Inspector⌥⌘0Properties of the selected clip — timing, transform, color
Agent panel⌥⌘AThe AI editing agent

Three layout presets rearrange the workspace in one keystroke: ⌘1 Default, ⌘2 Media (bigger browsing grid), and ⌘3 Vertical (tall preview for 9:16 work). ⌘F takes the whole thing full screen.

The five surfaces at a glance

  • Home — recent cuts, starter templates, and shortcuts into Studio.
  • Cut — the editor. See Editor overview.
  • Studio — prompt-based generation and one-click Applications.
  • Workflows — node-canvas pipelines. See Workflows overview.
  • Library — everything you've generated and uploaded. See Library overview.

Settings

Click your avatar → Settings, or visit app.corte.so/settings. Settings is grouped into Account (profile, usage), Workspace (general preferences, models, agent, storage, connections, projects), and Developer (API keys, MCP). The articles in Account & Billing and Developers cover each pane.
